The business end of the season
Lot of things were resolved today.
Chelsea won the premiership, finally! Jose Mourinho throws his Premiership winners medal into the crowd then tells the media he nearly quit the club. Plus they won the title versus United, any chance to see those manc buggers get royally fucked over is a joy to see. So seeing a rival win the title after hammering you 3-0 must’ve been just awful!
Thankfully, the big mouth of Bryan Robson will hopefully be shut. His team got relegated today without even kicking a ball. Portsmouth’s win over Wigan ensured their survival and sent the Baggies down in the process. This will probably result in Robson leaving the club, I can but hope…
Portsmouth’s win also means that Birmingham are down too. Muhahaha!
As for Forest. I think, personally, that we’ve fucked our playoff chances this for this year. We had a supreme chance of getting into the top five tonight and we blew it against Bournemouth, with Perchy denied a sublime goal from an equally sublime save, and Wes’s goal being disallowed in all likelihood will see us miss out on the playoffs by sodding goal difference. As long as we build on this end to the season, and not think ourselves well equipped for a promotion push and not sodding well do anything about it.
Also turns out that big Phil Scolari doesn’t want the England job. He blames press intrusion as the reason. I don’t blame him either. The press in the UK are bloody awful. I’m still having nightmares of McLaren taking over and being utterly shit. So i’m hoping the FA will shock us again and install Martin O’Neill, i’d certainly fall in line with that!
Spent last night (and most of friday afternoon) enjoying the sunshine and having many a drink with my brother and Jim. Unfortunately this resulted in us going to be around 10.30pm, but a good time was had by all!
Worst. Name. Ever…
Nintendo have announced the official name for their next gen console.
The Nintendo Wii (pronounced Wee)
I can just imagine it now. Walking into game and asking for a Wii…
Flagged
Something odd happened the other day…while shopping in Sainsbury’s, I felt the urge to have a look at the England World Cup section. In an extraordinary bout of pride in my national team, I felt the need to buy something to show my allegience for the forthcoming World Cup.
The mini England car flags, plastic hats, England foam fingers and England socks really didn’t do it for me. I bought the England flag.

Hung over the length of the window in my bedroom, a nice reminder of where my loyalties lie in the summer!Speaking of England, word on the street is that Phil Scolari will be offered the England manager’s job when Sven vacates the seat after the World Cup. Personally, I think it’d be a great move. Anything that prevents Steve Fucking McLaren getting the job gets my support!
Kick up The Arse
Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw to make it their first European Cup final (hate calling it the Champions League, so I won’t). It was a very one sided game, Villarreal were all over Arsenal for much of the game and had chance after chance to score. Amazingly though, Arsenal held on as Villarreal unbelievably failed to hit the target. Jens Lehmann saved a last minute (well, almost) penalty and the Gunners are in the final.
Sadly for them, they’ll more than likely face one hell of a side in Barcelona in the final. Barca will destroy Arsenal if they play like they did last night.
I’m also glad that we seem to be seeing an upturn in fortunes of English clubs in Europe. Shame it had to start with Liverpool winning last years European Cup!
Thanks, but no thanks!
Since the Sport Editorial duties of the Nottingham Evening Post were handed over to Notts County fan Paul Taylor, the Evening Post sports pages have delved into new depths of shittyness.
The match report following Forest’s 3-2 loss to Hartlepool was nothing short of shameful. The article takes the approach that Forest have shot themselves in the foot, they have too much to do to climb back into the playoffs, and that Barlow and McParland have single handedly ruined all the good work put together since Gary Megson’s departure.
A subsequent interview with John Curtis since the weekends result has carried the message “Keep the Faith”, making it plain that while our local newspaper may like to be the first to stick the knife in, the players still remain ever hopeful of our chances of reaching the playoffs.
Gary Megson made the right desicison to cut off communication with the NEP, a horrible sleazy rag that have slowly taken the route of making up a story when one doesn’t exist. When our club faces nervy times like this week, the last thing we want are negative doom-laden articles such as this.
Thankfully, the comments left underneath the article make for interesting reading. It seems that most Forest fans agree over the Post’s shoddy reporting.
