Auf Wiedersehen!

Alessandro Del Piero scores the second goal as the Italians dump Germany out of the World Cup.

I honestly thought that the Germans would go all the way this year and win the thing, never thought for one minute that we could possibly end up with a France v Italy final (hoping that the French hammer Portugal to the middle of next week!).

I missed most of the game, finding out that it had indeed been a cracker, but have seen the highlights and it looked end to end stuff. I get the feeling that had England beat the Portuguese and progressed, we’d have gone out in the semi’s.
I’d back the Italians to win the cup now, despite football in their country going through a turbulent time at the moment.

Talking of Italy, the whole Forest squad are there at the moment in a bid to get fit for pre-season. Memories do indeed go back to the farcial USA trip of a few years ago, but lessons seem to have been learnt and James Perch has even commented on the fact that it’s totally different. More proffesional.

Now that the World Cup is over for England, I’m beginning to get more excited about the new season.
