christmas ramblings
Time off, finally. Last day at work today until Thursday, time has flown by this month – can’t believe it’s Christmas in two days.
Just haven’t had the time to be online in recent weeks, but have plenty of time to waffle – so shall do so accordingly!
Forest’s promotion train has de-railed of late. A dodgy home loss against Leyton Orient was followed today by an away loss to Doncaster, the last game before Belle Vue is torn down. This result will probably prompt Calderwood to make fine use of the transfer window. God knows who he’d go for, i’ve become rather estranged from football in recent weeks and I haven’t a clue as to any potential transfer targets.
I feel that things will start to get better come the new year though, and even if we wobble once more we’ve still built up a sizeable points tally to make sure we’ll be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
Have spent a few nights at my Brother (and Jim’s!) house in Sherwood recently. The other day we all had a go on Guitar Hero. I’d heard how good this game was, but was blown away how brilliantly fun it was. So much so, that the first item i’ll be buying in the sales will be this game! Magic!
Went to London on the 13th with my sister to gawp at the all the sights. I do enjoy going down to London, but have now reached the point where all the sights are a bit ‘meh’. Seen it, done it. But walking my sister around these same sights we did see two famous faces. Noel Clarke (a.k.a Mickey Smith from Doctor Who) and the slightly more high profile Tony Blair, being driven the back way into Downing Street.
Back to the present, I managed to finish the christmas shopping today. Was in town early, so missed the horror of late-late Christmas shopping which i witnessed later. Fuck knows why people bother leaving it so late.
Probably will find the time to post again over the Christmas holiday, as things will steadily start getting back to normal – no overtime, yay!
king of the mods
Modded my Xbox late last night, using the tried and tested ’softmod’ technique. I’m now in the long, drawn out process of installing Xbox Media Centre on it, which is proving incredibly slow.
All a bit of a learning curve here, as I’ve never done anything even slightly like this before (which means it could all go wrong at any moment!).
Away from Xboxes and slightly obscure Boosh related post titles, Nottingham Forest resume normal service against Crewe Alexandra, hammering them 4-1. Super Nathan Tyson makes up for lost time by knocking in a first half ten-minute hat trick, with Grant Holt having had opened the scoring half an hour into the game.
Back to winning ways, after the cup shitness, and back on track to end the year on top and in charge!
What makes you think you’re something special when you smile?
Big grins aplenty today as I had my first glance at a Nintendo Wii. Game are having it available for play at select periods of the day. I got there to late to play it, but looked in amazement and wonder as some lads made arses of themselves playing bowling on Wii Sports.
It looked like a great deal of fun, and the Wii might have just jumped onto my ‘Things to buy in 2007′ list.
One month on…
And I FINALLY get round to uploading all of my Paris pictures!

I thought I’d lost the USB cable, and with my multi-card reader going wrong the other week – I wasn’t sure what to do next. Other than find the cable.
All of the pictures can be found here, including a couple of me (horror!) and something surprisingly sold in a metro station (intrigue!)
Skint at Christmas
Not quite, but the fuck up by Royal Mail with my overtime has made sure I don’t get any extra money over the festive period.
Still, with constant warnings that through the whole of December it’ll be madness in the Mail Centre, I suppose I might be getting off lightly.
